Parking:
This is the most convenient parking lot to access Volterra from La Paiola. You can pay using your phone with the EasyPark App, or just use the machine in the parking lot to pay for parking and leave the ticket on your dashboard. The machines have english translation and take credit cards.

Food:
You almost can’t go wrong with any restaurant in Volterra, but here are some of our favorites.
Our neighbor in Volterra, Sarah’s family bakery. Great for morning pastries. She’s incredibly nice and worth stopping in to say hi.
Little sandwich shop in town, great for a quick lunch or to takeaway.
Another great little sandwich shop in town. This one has no seating, so good for some food on the go. Sometimes it has quite a line since it one of the top rated panini places in the area.
RISTORANTE ETRURIA
Great restaurant in the main square. Lots of outside seating. Good food and good wine. Best local soup.
We haven’t actually tried this place yet, but it has an amazing view and great reviews.
L'isola del Gusto Gelateria
Finally, for desert, this gelato place is award winning and top notch.
Grocery Stores:
There are two grocery stores close by where you can shop for food and supplies.
Conad is probably slightly closer, but is a little smaller:

Coop is bigger:

Wineries and Tours
Panzanella
Riseccoli
il Molina de Grace
Vignamagio
Savignola Paolina
Verrazzano winery - Florence: Bar on a corner next to the Arno River. It is one bridge up from Pointe Vecchio. You can taste wine there or book a tour out at the winery. https://www.verrazzano.com/
Antinori - The grounds are very interesting, beautiful, modern. It is fairly expensive to taste but you can control that as you pay by the taste. The restaurant is busy so you should make a reservation. But a glass of wine and a charcuterie plate hits the spot.
Tenuto Torciano
If you are in the area of Panzano in Chianti, have lunch at Dario Ceccini's food truck on the main road. Food is amazing and perfect stop for lunch.
